Julien G. Patterson Hosts a Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council Town Hall Meeting and Forum June 10, 2009
On June 10, 2009, Julien Patterson, Founder and Chairman of OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation, hosted the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (VMSDC) Town Hall Meeting and Member Participant Forum, "Surviving the Economic Downturn… Tips for Your Business" at the OMNIPLEX headquarters in Chantilly, VA.
Mr. Patterson and senior executive leadership from the OMNIPLEX Management Team shared with the Forum participants their thoughts, insight, and years of professional experience on business management in tough economic environments, business survival techniques, and real-life business lessons learned.
In his introductory remarks, Mr. Patterson emphasized the value of passion, personal commitment, and a strong faith-based foundation as critical components to surviving and overcoming challenges. Mr. Patterson also emphasized the importance of encouragement from those from whom we draw support, and the personal strength derived from a positive attitude. He also offered his thoughts on key survival elements, both in one’s personal life and in the life of one’s business. Mr. Patterson advised the participants that success in both of these realms is built upon, “a clear vision, a viable plan, and valuable relationships.”
Mr. Patterson led the OMNIPLEX host group in a panel discussion format that was energized by lively questioning from the Forum participants. Ideas were exchanged, experience anecdotes were offered, and Forum and panel participants collectively drilled down to obtain advice and helpful tips relevant to the business problems faced by small business entrepreneurs in this economic environment.
