Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy Graduation March 5, 2007
OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation's President and CEO, Julien G. Patterson, Speaks at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy Graduation
On February 28, 2007, Mr. Julien G. Patterson, President and CEO, OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation, spoke on the occasion of the 50th graduation session and ceremony of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy, held in Centreville, VA at the Centreville High School.
Mr. Patterson spoke to an audience of over 700 and discussed the day-to-day challenges of character and personal accountability and suggested that each one of us must confront character and personal accountability and emerge victorious. Mr. Patterson also suggested that this challenge is especially visible attribute for those in public service and in particular, those in law enforcement. In his speech, Mr. Patterson built upon the important thought of theologian Dwight Moody and suggested to each graduate and each audience member that, "character is who you are when no one is looking." This, Mr. Patterson said, is a profoundly important public service precept.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Patterson challenged the Academy graduates to individually integrate their training, personal values, and commitment to law enforcement with the personal support from those in attendance so that at the end of each day, you may know that not only will you prevail but you will prevail in doing what is right and in doing what is good.
The graduation was attended by Academy Staff, county leadership, law enforcement and fire officials, business and community leaders, special guests family and friends and law enforcement and first responder dignitaries from across the entire U.S.
Mr. Patterson's security career began with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during which time he designed a wide variety of comprehensive and specialized security training programs. Serving 10 years with the CIA, he was responsible for leading the CIA's worldwide Mobile Training Teams (MTT).
